The Island War

The Island War is what I call a military thriller for the common soldier. Many authors, such as Brad Thor and Dale Brown, write military thrillers using ex-special forces trained or retired general officers who do amazing things with the extreme training that has made them elite fighting machines. The Island War does it with an everyman. As of Dec 2025 it has approximately 90,000 words.

SYNOPSIS

The Island War is a military thriller for the common soldier. Many authors, such as Brad Thor and Dale Brown, write military thrillers using ex-special forces trained or retired general officers who do amazing things with the extreme training that has made them elite fighting machines. In The Island War, a junior enlisted soldier sent on a routine, force protection mission to a small Caribbean island with an American Air Force Base gets entangled in a takeover of the island and saves the day for the US before getting ground into the heels of the military system. He survives, thrives, and overcomes the odds because of the resilience of everyday soldiers. By the end of the story, his superiors ignore his role in the American victory and prepare to drum him out of the army when he encounters an organization that sets up the next book in the series.
