Yes Day

Today was a yes day.

Yes, I did take a selfie even though I don’t take many. And yes, that’s a UHF shirt. And yes, I did do 80 (kph) in second gear. I was also humming the song because I drove like crazy—the day required it. Just to be extra I also did 120 in third but there’s no Weird Al connection to that part.

Schöne Wetter Heute

Yes, Ginger told me to take the day off. Yes, I did. And yes, I worked more on work than I should have. OK, I can’t defend this one, so yes, you’re right, I should not have.

Yes, the weather was beautiful and screamed topless more than a [punchline removed before Ginger could tell me my filter was off—but yes, it was an inappropriate joke].

Yes it was “only” in the 50s. That’s cold where I’m from but after the month and a half of snow on the ground we had here, it was warm. Yes that’s weird to hear me say it. The heater wasn’t cranked up but something was.

Yes, it was the radio cranked up. With Joe Satriani because I was Surfing with the Alien. Yes, I had to take out Van Halen to put it in. What can I say? He’s Always with me, Always with You.

Yes, I should probably have proofread this again, and checked to make sure my jokes were the kind others would think as funny as me. That part is no different than a normal day though. Yes, it was no normal day.

Yes today was my middle daughter’s birthday. And yes, I’m feeling a little long in the tooth. But driving topless with the radio made me feel young again. Yes, really. Blood pumping just like the gas through the 6 cylinders. Yes, the engine on my tiny car is bigger than the one in Ginger’s big Volvo.

Yes, I had the Boxster on 2 wheels, but only metaphorically. I fell in love with Porsches [mumble a large number] years ago because they are glued to the road. And yes, it stayed there as it was designed. Just like I knew it would at the age of 14 when I cut out the first picture and put it on the wall. Yes, when you burn rubber with the top down the smell comes in to you.

And no, it was not the brakes. Yes, it was through a corner, in second, at 80.
